How do I find the wep key and ssid on my usb Wireless Adaptor?

I bought a WLAN 11g Usb Adapter on ebay and I am trying to connect it to my PSP. When I try to scan for it under Infrastructure Mode nothing shows up but my neighbors wireless. I have installed the adapter onto my computer and everything but It wont work. Can anybody help?

You need:

- a computer (Win XP preferably) with an Internet connection (broadband, or even dialup) and a Wireless Adapter.
Any kind of 802.11b or 802.11g wireless adapter will work... a laptop with a built in Wireless Card, or a desktop with a USB wireless adapter, or any other combination of a computer and a wireless adapter.
This will be the "ICS Host computer".

Rather than me explaining how to set up the ICS Host computer, it is covered quite well by Microsoft themselves here:

Just follow the directions for configuring the ICS Host computer and ignore the section about the Client computer. We'll be using the PSP as the Client computer.

Here's the steps to take on the PSP:

- go into the "Network Settings" section

- choose "Infrastructure Mode" (yes, I know we are creating an Ad Hoc network, but trust me...)

- choose "New Connection"

- give your new connection a name (anything will do)

- enter the SSID that you used when you configured the ICS Host computer. Don't bother trying the Scan option, you won't find anything.
Note: the SSID is case sensitive; be sure to match upper/lowercase with the SSID on the ICS Host computer!

- enter the WEP encryption key you used on the Host computer (if any). It would be a good idea to configure both Host and PSP with no WEP encryption to start, since mixed keys can cause frustrating problems.

- choose "Easy" Address Settings.
Later on you might want to change this if you are using the WipEout Pure browser, but stick to Easy for now and come back to it later with instructions from whatever "web portal" site you decide to use.

- You're done! Save your settings! Don't bother to test the connection, it will fail. But that's OK, it will work when you need it to.

Now go into your web browser (eg. the Download feature in WipEout Pure) (...surely you didn't update to firmware 2.0 to get web browsing, did you?!!).

When you pick a network connection choose the new one you just created. It may take a few seconds to connect, but your ICS Host computer should detect an Ad Hoc (peer-to-peer) network and your PSP should connect to it as if it were an Infrastructure network.

Now browse! Download those WipEout Pure add-on packs or whatever it is you've been waiting for!

I've only had the chance to try this with a US PSP with firmware 1.5 and the WipEout Pure browser. It fails when you "test" the connection because the Wireless Network doesn't come up fast enough to pass the test, but it works fine when you use the browser.
