How do I configure POE on a cisco 2811 router with a NME-16ES-1G-P installed?
I'm using a Network Module that supports POE but when I plug in my phones it still doesn't power them up like it does on my switch.
Network module is: NME-16ES-1G-P
I hate to ask the obvious, but have you loaded the Switch Module software and enabled the ports?
The EtherSwitch service modules run independent of the host router IOS and require their own IOS images. These modules utilize the same IOS images as the Catalyst 3750 IOS images. A version of Catalyst 3750 IOS 12.2(25)EZ or higher must be used with the EtherSwitch service modules in addition to the minimum IOS of the host router IOS.
Otherwise, the PoE should be enabled by default, just like in your other 802.3af capable switches.
